Not Since Carrie: Forty Years of Broadway Musical Flops
by Ken Mandelbaum
challenging
informative
slow-paced
Mandelbaum is certainly knowledgable on the topic of Broadway flops, and speaks with a good deal of familiarity on the subject. However, the book is rather slow in places. The connections Mandelbaum tries to use to bridge gasps between the shows often fall flat, and the recounting of some of the flops is confusing. It’s a good book on the subject, but is rather boring in places.
