The main character, Georgie; is in debt, is trying to keep her past secret, and her job may be in jeopardy from a company shakeup. She spends a lot of time panicking and jumping to conclusions. The first half of the book or so her constant anxiety was giving me anxiety, but once she realized that she could exert control over at least her reactions to the situations the book got much better for me. And I liked that it had at least a semi-realistic ending to some of her problems, not just a Cinderella 'poof' everything is better.
