I had higher hopes for my enjoyment of this book. I thought the characters had good chemistry initially, but the rest of the book just wasn’t interesting to me.

I felt the pacing was bad. The story barely progressed (the searching and taking down Elle’s younger brother) that by the time the big fight happened, I wasn’t invested and it was even over as quickly as it started. The whole book felt like it was building to that, so when it happened a little past halfway through the book, the story felt like it didn’t need to continue. The second half felt slow since it focused on the recovery of the main characters with little action.

There were things mentioned in the book that I think were supposed to give depth to the characters but instead it felt unnecessary. Like mentioning 3-4 times Luc’s ex bf?

I just wasn’t invested in the book and wanted to DNF it after the fight, but I hate doing that so I saw it through.
