The Ex-Boyfriend Yard Sale by Haley McGee

We follow Haley McGee as she recounts her love life in an effort to find the cost of love. The premise is adorable, though ultimately I found the book dragged on quite a bit with a lot of unnecessary detail (McGee will talk about going to the bathroom and picking at an ingrown hair before returning to the kitchen with two mugs of tea - all of which is irrelevant).

I did enjoy the parts where she looked at past relationships and even interviewed a few of her past boyfriends. The book takes place from the start of her idea for a formula to get the cost of love all the way to after her first round of performances conclude, and the detail in between is just not engaging enough to relate to the main story. If you want to read about her life and times during that period, this is the memoir for you.

One other main storyline is her relationship with T, which is a major draw to the book especially paralleled with the formula she is working on. This was the most compelling reason for me to keep reading; I needed to know where the relationship went.

Overall, it's a decent read if a little slow. I probably wouldn't re-read this one, and I don't know if it had any lasting impression on me (TBD I guess).
