The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

5.0

This book is good! It was my favorite book in middle/high school and I don’t remember it being this great. When I first started re-reading it, I realized how not-in-high-school I am, but that turned out not to count against the book. It was the US’s 5th most challenged book in 2022 (tied with Looking for Alaska) and the most challenged book in South Carolina!!! I wouldn’t choose this for a family book club but I certainly would not keep anyone from this beautiful story. It’s a sweet book and it is much better than its film adaptation (at least from what I can remember). Fuck the fascists, read The Perks of Being a Wallflower!
