This book was a rollercoaster ride for me. Honestly, I really didn't like it at the beginning. I thought the writing wasn't that great. And, I thought both the plot and characters were unrealistic. I didn't like Ryle from the start
for good reason!
. And personally, I only liked Lily's journal entries during Part 1. However, once we got to Part 2, my feelings about the book started to change. Colleen Hoover did a fantastic job putting outsiders in the mind of a victim who is in an abusive relationship. People ask why do they stay with their abusers? Why don't they leave them? This book shows readers why doing that isn't always so simple.

So, I love the message and how it's told in this book. However, that doesn't change the fact that I wasn't of the writing, especially during the first part of the book. I will say, I LOVE Atlas, and plan on reading the sequel, It Starts With Us, when it comes out in the fall. So, I will probably reread this book around then to refresh my memory. If so, we'll see if my opinion/rating will change then.
