Hang the Moon disappointed me, but I assumed there was just something with me and second books so I gave this one a go anyway, and... yeah, no. Margot and Olivia had the potential for the same charm as Darcy and Elle, and struck out at so many turns. Being unwilling to speak about their history and present, and what that means for their future - for all Margot is lauded as someone blunt and honest, it was frustrating to watch her make assumptions about what Olivia wanted while also being kind of a dick to any hanger-ons. And while I understand her final point about Olivia taking things for herself, I don't think that Olivia's nonresponsive, once-ailing father was the hill to die on. When Hang the Moon just kind of dragged, this one frustrated me. Written in the Stars was wonderful, so I hope Bellefleure can tap into that charm again.
