Diverse cast of characters: No

3.5⭐️

  • Takes place in Minnesota. Lol.
  • Strong independent FMC who is mainly focused on her job and cat.
  • Overprotective and trauma filled MMC who is filthy rich.
  • One night stand in vegas with what would be the boss/client.  Surprise!
  • Parental loss
  • Single dad
  • Mafia adjacent.
  • Definitely some 🌶️. Not overly gratuitous, but many scenes involve the office.
  • Suspense and drama with kidnapping and stalking.
  • Some of my favorite and most heartwarming scenes were with Sasha and Annie. Spunky and extremely perceptive girl who spoke her mind at 11 years old. I think I cried during one conversation.
  • Skipped ahead to see what the other two books are about, hoping to see
that the next one would be Eric and Jessica. But not the case. Booo  >
  • Really did not like either narrator at first. The female one started to grow on me, and I was fine by the end. The male, sounded very AI for a big chunk of book. I think it was his attempt at an alpha male, but felt more robotic. The story got me hooked and the voices were fine enough to not stop me from finishing.
  • I would like to see this series through and learn more about Alfonso and John.
