The History of Bees by Maja Lunde
2.0
Probably close to 1 1/2. Not for me.
It took 100 pages for me to get some interest. The 3 different stories did not catch my attention one bit, and I hated all the characters, especially William. It's hard for me to get involved with characters I can't empathise with. The lack of development of the characters may be a reason if that (they had zero redemptive qualities)
I can't really talk about the writing style as I'm not sure it is what made it hard for me to read or if the plot did that.
Regarding said plot, I think there was potential, but it just didn't work for me at all. I couldn't be interested. And I'm not sure the point of the book (that the world needs bees) necessarily came through. We don't get into enough details about the why the collapse happens, why Tao says what she says at the end, etc.
