This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but this book was super boring. Again, I think if I went with a hard copy of this book I’d be able to get through this better. I listened to this and the narrator, who naturally has an American accent, kept speaking with a Russian one for 90% of the book and was very distracting. The “twist” at the end was very predictable and I figured out from a mile a way. The grandfather’s story as the kitchen boy just didn’t make sense so I assumed from early on that he had a higher position than what he claimed. The whole plot was a bit over the top for me. I couldn’t get into this one and just genuinely wasn’t excited to listen to it. The Kitchen Boy just wasn’t the book for me.
