Mama's Boy: A Story from Our Americas by Dustin Lance Black

4.0

"Who am I to tell you any dream is too big? "

"We're only as good as our word, and a promise is a sacred thing"

I first came across the name Dustin Lance Black when I was instagram-stalking Tom as I binged videos of people swimming and diving; I just took up swimming classes and those were some great motivators. Anyways, from binging Tom's diving videos, I went to binging Tom and Lance's videos to binging Lance's interviews and speeches. Lance has this charisma to his personality that I think just draw people in and he has great flair in storytelling. This proves true in this memoir. Mama's Boy is a beautifully written memoir and tribute to Lance's roots, especially his mom. What an amazing woman. There were so many personal stories about Lance's and his family's struggles and so each triumph Lance went through was very inspirational. Amazing memoir!
