The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa
5.0

This book rewards slow, slow reading. It is fragmentary and heavy, devoid of any plot or overarching structure, but full of beautiful, lyrical passages that entrance and provoke you, if you give them the time and space they need. I have never read a book that captures sadness, fate, and nostalgia quite so well. Fado in text.
