I did not like this book. There was something about it that was incredibly boring and wasn’t appealing to me. I do see how it could appeal to others, however, there was something about the pace, the emotional journey the characters went on, and the smut that left something to be desired.
It was a fairly easy to get through read which is why I didn’t DNF it, and it had an interesting concept, but I just didn’t feel any of the drama or weight to the situation Harper and Nico were in. It felt bland to me, and lacked stakes despite it being categorized as a “forbidden romance.”
I also felt it was incredibly cheesy, and each last line of the chapter felt too on the nose and dramatic. There also were many moments where Harper would allude to future events while in her internal monologue and that really confused me and took me out of the story.
