A Steeping of Blood by Hafsah Faizal

4.5

As much as I loved the first novel in this series, I enjoyed this one even more! This beautiful book managed to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. It jumps right back into the action and the plot never stops. Dealing with themes of colonialism, identify and community, it balances action and emotion. There isn’t a moment when the stakes don’t feel earned. It shredded my heart and put it back together again.

Flick and Jin own my whole heart.

A beautiful sequel!

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan publishing for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
