Ugh, I LOVED this! I've had this on my TBR for SO long and I regret not reading it sooner. It is fantastic!
Mike is always getting into fights and trouble. Ethan is desperately living hand to mouth, living in a shit-hole to pay off a debt. He's already paid off 10 years! and has another 3 to go, but things are getting desperate.
One day, Ethan is in the laundromat when he sees Mike has miraculously gotten blood out of a shirt. Mike is instantly suspicious about how he knows that and Ethan admits that he saw him fighting in the alley outside his apartment last night. He tries to strike up a conversation but Mike isn't interested.
Then, someone rings Ethan's buzzer in the middle of the night. He opens the door to find Mike has been stabbed and he's bleeding badly. What starts as Ethan giving him first aid ends in Mike spending his entire recovery time in Ethan's apartment...something Ethan enjoys more than Mike does.
I loved everything about this. Two older MC's than what you traditionally see in Yaoi/manga, a bear of a man with a younger fit guy. What's not to love??
TRIGGERS: mentions of suicidal thoughts, gambling debts, death, violence, depression.
