This book is mind-blowing, a huge dose of adrenaline, and the definition of a masterpiece.
This was my first read from Jodie, and from now on, I'm her biggest fan. I've already started one of her other books, and I cannot get enough. I honestly thought I'd read my fair share of dark/horror books and that nothing could shock me or give me something new, but Jodie came and won. I had to pick my jaw up off the hard, cold floor several times, and I probably enjoyed a few scenes way too much. Yes, this book is dark, but it is amazing!
A major thing that made me fall in love with this book and author is her writing style, the storytelling, and the unexpected and amazingly well-planned twists and plots. It's one of my favorite reads ever! I mean it. If you're looking for a hero who saves. the world, this book is not for you. Here, all the characters are pitch black. But they are so real with all their flaws, I can't not love them. And if you love your books with a little bit of spice, well, this is as hot as a day in the desert.
I highly recommend jumping into this world blind, but only if you are a hardcore dark romance/horror reader. Please check the trigger warnings, but nothing else—not a word about the story. Trust me. I'm not going to have peace until I meet this brilliant author. Really, Jodie, you have my little black soul.
I cannot wait to go back to Oddity, i had so much fun.
