I finished this book mainly out of spite. I didn’t like it at all. They had a fairly interesting concept and could have really leaned into the world building. But instead focused on characters that don’t grow or challenge anything. The “horror” of the book isn’t insightful or meaningful in any way. It plays way too much into the shock value.
