The main draws of this book stem from its captivating stories and  beautiful writing. Murakami is good at keeping you hooked. There were many points where I had trouble putting the novel down. However, Murakami is not suited toward this short story format. I feel that his best work is found within his thickest novels. All of these stories left me wanting more. They’re all fantastic starting points for greater works. However this just left me wanting more from the endings. Very few of what I read was memorable, likely due to the lack of a satisfying conclusion. Overall an alright short story collection that I was expecting more from.
