I remember gifting this to someone and casually thinking "One day I'll check it out myself". Little did I know, the day would be almost six years later and it would only take that one day to read these lovely poems. I appreciate Kaur's openness, simplicity, and the art that accompanies the work. Reading this on my phone felt different than seeing the lines spill across the pages, but it was still meaningful. They are poems I would like to revisit with more time passed, and more experiences had. I can only imagine how raw some of these words would have felt in 2014, 2016, 2018. To end, here are a few of my favorite lines:

I am water
soft enough
to offer life
tough enough
to drown it away


Your body
is a museum of natural disasters
can you grasp how
stunning that is
