K.L. Shannon's Take a Chance on Me is an interwoven standalone book that is part of the Song of Saint Croix series. The title is a clever play on words with the MMC's name, Chance. He's not looking for love, but he suddenly finds it with the FMC. Author K.L.Shannon tells an extraordinary romance story that’s exceptionally written. The female main character travels to Saint Croix before attending a show shot on a boat. She is unable to begin a relationship but falls for Chance nevertheless. Cassie gradually makes her way back to Chance while breaking free from darker events in her profession. This book deals with complicated issues. The charming micro clichés include secret tattoos and nicknames, he reads romance novels, she wears strawberry lip gloss particularly for him, and he serenades her at karaoke. This five-star read is one that should be read after checking trigger warnings due to presence of darker issues prior to HEA. Drama is unique in that it is a road to unity rather than a breakup trope. I highly recommend this book to romance readers looking for a fresh author. The book will be released on February 5, 2025.
