prosepoet 's review for:
To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee
I. Loved. This. Book.
Now one of my all-time favorites, as it is evocactive of my salt-of-the-Earth relatives and their life in the Old South. I greatly admire the character of Atticus Finch, and see a younger version of myself in Scout. Harper Lee's prose is wise yet simplistic in its descriptions, making this an excellent book to curl up with in bed - to give the characters the full respect and attention they deserve. I wonder if Beverly Cleary's 'Ramona' was a bit inspired by Scout Finch...
Classic book; I really wish I'd read it sooner, and look forward to many a repeat-read of this text throughout my life.
