One By One by Freida McFadden

mysterious tense fast-paced

5.0

Am I super late to Freida McFadden? Yes, I am. Am I angry with myself for not reading her books sooner? Yes, I am.

Claire and her husband, Noah pack up to go on a trip with their friends. Jack and Michelle. Lindsay and her new beau, Warner. Claire knows her marriage is over, that they've only been staying together for the kids. She debates whether or not to tell him she's done during this trip. On the way to their inn, Claire's minivan breaks down and it's the beginning of the worst 3 days of their lives.

I've been on a really solid romance kick the last few months but my love of reading started with psychological thrillers. The absolute mindf*ck of thrillers had always drawn my attention. I'm happy to say that Freida's books are not over hyped. It's an extremely fast paced read, but isn't all over the place. The anonymous chapters were frustratingly perfect with no hint of who they were. I second guessed myself multiple times right up until the last page. My next few weeks are going to be spent reading the rest of Freida's released books.

Thank you to Netgalley, Freida McFadden, and Poisoned Pen Press for the chance to read One By One!
