I was looking for a small book to buy at a wonderful bookstore when I came across this one. Earlier in the day I had gone birding with a group, and I have always loved birds, nature and folklore. I loved Kelly’s use of nature in almost all of her poems, especially the first poem entitled “Bower.” I looked up the bowerbird which made me more fully understand the poem and admire how beautiful it’s nest is. A poem I enjoyed for its format was “Archaeology,” as there are three possible ways of reading it leading to three different interpretations (reading it fully across the two columns and then reading each column down separately).
