For the targeted age range, this could be a great read for the spooky season. A mystery where the scary moments and elements aren't overly so.

But as an adult reading middle grade, I felt it could have done a bit more with the mystery itself.

Three kids solving the mystery within days, especially the Christopher aspect, when adults couldn't for nearly a century? I expected finding the truth to be a bit more of a struggle.
