A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Re-read, May 2022: Despite being a bit devastated I’ll never experience this for the first time again, re-reading it was a whole new level of entertaining. All of the Easter eggs and foreshadowing that SJM planted in ACOTAR ahead of pretty much every book that’s come in the series since had me squealing with delight (no seriously, I literally squealed).

I also can’t quite believe how many red flags I missed first time around… having read the rest of the series so far really does clear up those rose coloured glasses!

Aug 2021: Beauty and the beast meets Twilight, but only in the best ways! Swapping vampires for Faeries… and much better storytelling. I LOVED this book, gobbling it up in two sittings (stopping only to sleep due to vaccine induced exhaustion).
