Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Other Stories by John Tenniel, Lewis Carroll

5.0

It took me an entire year, Christmas to Christmas to finish this tomb of a book but I am thrilled I did. I know Lewis Carroll isn't for everyone but to me, he will go down as one of the greatest authors of his time. I love the witticisms, the vibrancy in his depictions of settings and characters, in the stunning make-believe, but most of all I love the symbolism, the double meanings, and the sheer genius of his works.
From the well known Alice to the sweet fairies of Sylvie and Bruno to the clever knights and their riddles to the hilarious anecdotes in the miscellany section of the book, I read every word and am richer for it.
