Where We Bloom by Kristen Proby

emotional funny hopeful lighthearted fast-paced

4.0

Connor is the CEO of a global hotel chain and says he doesn't have time for relationships. He has a one night stand with Billie when he's visiting for one of his latest projects, and a town his sister recently moved to. Turns out, Billie is Connor's sister's best friend. Once Billie finds this out, she tries to stay away from Connor, but with their stolen kisses, it doesn't last long.

I'm so happy to dive back into the world of the Blackwells! I loved seeing everyone again and even some special appearances/mentions of the Wilds. I loved how Connor cared for Billie and how Billie showed her independence when needed. I also loved how Connor listened to her. I also loved how Billie was able to bring Connor down to reality more, if that makes sense. There's a little dash of suspense/bigger conflict in this book but it isn't overpowering and the book still has a nice romance-y feel.

If I had to make one recommendation about this book it would be for the reader to read book two. I loved how the ending of book two led into this one. I'm someone who can read a series in any order and I don't mind it, but in this case, I'd definitely read book two before this one.

It's been far too long since I've had Emma Wilder in my ears and boy did I miss her! I love how she gives dimension to her characters, especially the ones who are more independent like Billie. And having Connor Crais as an Irish hero for a whole book. That takes pure talent and he's easily become one of my top three male narrators over the years.

A big thank you to the author and Must Love Audio for an advanced copy of this audiobook. Opinions are my own.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love when billionaires make a small town girl's dreams come true.
