it’s really kind of funny every time i review one of these books how i check off a massively long list of content warnings and then get to go huh! i absolutely did devour a 700+ page book packed full to the brim with all of this horrible shit!

i understand that the opinion that this is better than the first book is fairly widely held, but i’m not sure i liked it quite as much. i liked it a great deal, to be clear, but i think maybe for me not having the novelty of the characters and world and plot machinations of the first dinged it a little bit. of course i enjoyed the increased focus on lisbeth and spending far more time in stockholm and the undercurrent of acab attitude but also i hate that lisbeth had to suffer all this. which naturally if she didn’t it would be a far less interesting book but you know how it is. that’s my special girl who should get to live in peace with her girlfriend!!!
