I am so glad I decided to give this series another shot this year after soft DNFing The Cruel Prince in 2019.

I still can't believe I waited this long to finish out this series! I finally listened to this book in 3 days time and absolutely loved it! This book fits the prompt "Book with a beautiful cover" for The Amazing Readathon hosted by 4pawsandabook. This book has been one of my most anticipated books on my TBR since I re-started the series in December! In my opinion each book in the series got better and this conclusion did not disappoint.

I loved the dynamics of the characters and this book picked up right where the second one left off. There wasn't much of a recap but I didn't necessarily need one as I thought the story and timeline flowed very well. For most of this book I didn't know who to trust and I was constantly waiting for the characters to backstab each other. There was scheming, plotting, manipulation, battle, and action throughout this book. It was a wild ride from page one and kept me guessing and on my toes throughout!

I can see why this was such a popular series when it first came out and I'm glad I decided to read it. I thought this was a great conclusion to the series. It was a nail bitting YA fantasy and I have no idea what direction to take my reading in next now that this series is completed. I guess thats a good thing though!
