One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

3.5

The Breakfast Club, but make it a murder mystery. This was very much in the YA category and felt like something I would have LOVED as a teen, but still enjoyed as an adult. It took me back to my early 2000’s teen drama days (I’m looking at you MTV) giving reading it this almost nostalgic feel. Overall, I thought it was an engaging story with some decent plot twists along the way. I liked the multiple POVs, how the storylines weaved together, and the growth of the characters throughout the book. I did listen to the audiobook of this one, which I highly recommend. Each character had their own narrator making the POV changes fun and easy to follow. I’m looking forward to listening to the second book when it becomes available through my library app, but am in no rush to purchase it myself. It was a good read, just nothing that left me itching to get my hands on the next one.
