The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst

3.0

I enjoyed this book. I liked Alexa (Maggie and Michael too ;) ), the plot was interesting and the book kept me focused the entire time.
"Then...Why did you give it just 3 stars?" you may wonder.
The answer is simple, really. There are 2 big reasons.

1. NICK
Handsome? Yes. Successful? Yes. A bit arrogant? Yes. Smart? That's a bit subjective.
And BAM! : you have the perfect hero for a NA novel.
The problem is... I didn't like him at. all. From the very beginning I disagreed with his way of thinking and his principles but I thought "Oh well, that's not new. He'll change after meeting the MC."
I'm not saying he didn't change. I'm saying I don't like the way he did it. He was an annoying f***** until the end.
We should not forget the revelation. More than half of the book I had to read about sexual frustration, then about consuming it and
Spoiler at the end... Nick realises he's in love with her (very random, really. I couldn't feel their love). We should not forget about the kid. His reaction? I wouldn't forgive him, to be honest.

Spoiler 2. CHEATING

Spoiler I don't know if I am the naive one here, but I cannot and I will never forget cheating. Remember the kiss with Gabriella? Yeah, exactly. I don't care if the relationship between Nick and Alexa was just for show in that moment, they were still married and she made him promise from the very beginning he won't cheat on her with another woman. I loved the way she dealt with it, though

BUT you should not get me wrong. I liked it. I finished it without problems. And I wanted to see a lot mor interactions between my new OTP Maggie and Michael but I guess I'll just read the next book.
