I like retellings. I do. But this read so much more as fan fiction than anything else. The only similarities were names and vague hobbies. The resolution came soooo easily.
That being said, having another queer middle grade protagonist is a win to me, and having Little Women attached to it could make adults more likely to allow it in schools and young readers'  hands.
