Wow. This is the toughest book in the series so far. Just packed with heartbreaking moments, gut punches, and rough moments. For real, Temeraire and Laurence can’t catch a single break. But I just love how much they love and support each other. The dragon sickness was really so sad (I feel like that’s an inadequate word).
Novik really never shies away from the harsh realities of war and other topics of the day. And somehow each death keeps surprising me.
But Temeraire and Laurence are so good and honorable. That ending has me stressed so instead of taking a break, looks like I’ll be pushing on!
