I really wanted to like this book but I struggled to finish it. The overall structure is interesting (just nothing new), I just didn't connect with the main characters, however.
I do get insecurity and trauma, but the couple seemed unable to evolve. Personally, I don't vibe with the "character who can't get anything right, never expresses themselves clearly". A couple that can't seem to be able to communicate is not endearing to me. Something I did like was the discussion about lgbtqia culture.
Graphic: Homophobia
Moderate: Death of parent
