The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer
by Siddhartha Mukherjee

As a distinctly non-STEM girlie, this book was approachable and engaging and riveting. I loved the framing of the disease in the larger political context that made clinical progress possible and the constant reminder that failure is the only way to eventually succeed in finding new cures for new ailments. It’s a fascinating disease with a rich history and this is an excellent chronicle.
