Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich
3.0

My first Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum experience. Fun and easy to read, even if it often felt like there was more concentration on Stephanie personal life than the supposed plot, and the aforementioned supposed plot was tied up with not one, but TWO deus ex machina in quick succession.
Spoiler (The FTA Stephanie spent the novel failing to capture dying of the flu, and the arch nemesis who repeatedly trys to kill her throughout the novel being murdered by Ranger with no exploration of the consequences. The second one is perhaps a dubious deus ex machina, but it felt like Evanovich was just avoiding an otherwise inevitable showdown).
