Angelfall by Susan Ee

I have my alarm set for 6am to go to the gym and actually be up before double digit hours. But, thanks to this book, there is absolutely NO way I'm going to be able to wake up in 4 hours to force myself to run on the treadmill. If there is any book out there to lose sleep over, Angelfall is that book. Just before starting this novel, I had just finished reading [b:Daughter of Smoke & Bone|8490112|Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1)|Laini Taylor|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1338613368s/8490112.jpg|13355552] and [b:Days of Blood & Starlight|12812550|Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2)|Laini Taylor|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1337964452s/12812550.jpg|17961723] by [a:Laini Taylor|324620|Laini Taylor|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1224474224p2/324620.jpg] (both incredible books, go check them out!), both of which center around the theme of angels and demons. I fell in love with the main characters, and the fact that the plot was something that I had never come across before. In my depressed state of finding out that the 3rd book in the series wouldn't be coming out until next year, I stumbled upon Angelfall after seeing someone's review on it. And boy, am I glad that I did

Penryn is not only a kickass heroine, but she's a girl that many of us can identify with. She has a tremendous heart, a multitude of strength, and a fierce determination to protect anything or anyone she cares about. Despite the war going on, she allows herself to feel for Raffe. While there is no major romance aspect to this book, there were hints of it, and hopefully we get to see how it unfolds (if it does) in the next installment.

Besides the memorizing characters, the story line was incredibly addicting. It pained me to stop reading. There aren't many books that I'll lose sleep over (I love my sleep), but this one was for sure worth it. Kudos to you, Susan Ee!
