Vuk and Ayana weren't a couple that I was dying to get to, but I'm glad to know their story. I spent a lot of this book wishing that Ayana would just open her mouth to her fiance or to Vuk and tell talk about how hard work was for her. Even if it's not to help fix it, just someone to share a bit of the harsh burden was something I felt like she needed.
I do love that he pined for her, but she was right...he was so asshole-ish to her througout most of the early part. Poor guy. I loved the way he tried so hard to remain respectful to his best friend while also wanting his fiance so badly. Vuk is a good bad guy.
The brotherhood aspect of this really felt disconnected for me, which is why it's a 4 star. Honestly, it just felt like something that was tossed in a little here and there throughout the book to give us forced drama and justify a 500+ page book.
Overall, still a good story and part of this series. Definitely worth the read.
