“It’s going to be okay,”...“We’ve got a lifetime of magic left.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because it was never the cake. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒔.”
.
This one is so emotionally charged. And that is because on the one hand there are these blissful funny moments with Piper and Kaine. But on the other hand, there are the things the main characters went through, lived through. And the topics raised here are 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤. But the couple managed to overcome those, and I'm so glad they found their peace with the help of that 𝕞𝕒𝕘𝕚𝕔 of theirs.
I'd also say that I found the plot a bit surprising, somehow I expected it all to go a little differently, but I'm more than content with what we got in the end.
I might have questioned Adam's lie, because, like for real!? He'd stoop so low? And in the reality of the 21st century, it was a little hard to imagine Kaine managed without any kind of professional help.
But other than that, I'm glad I've got an opportunity to go through this little journey of Kaine and Piper's, although, emotionally it felt tremendous.
An added bonus is that we get glimpses into the life of other characters, and especially when one hasn't read all the books in the series it just feels nice.
