The beginning of this book was promising, if not a little basic. As I hit around 50 pages the writing became short stanzas that were about a sentence in length. A little farther into the book and you see the poems show too much similarity moving away from a theme and appearing more like cheap imitations of one another. Which usually I wouldn’t mind, but the whole book reads to me as something that has been said for so long, that puts a little too much blame on women, and could be an Instagram quote. Didn’t enough it. Might be for someone else, however. I’m trying a bunch of poetry out and hoping to find authors I really enjoy.
