Carry On: Reflections for a New Generation by John Lewis

5.0

This slim collection compiles a series of essays that Congressman Lewis wrote shortly before he passed away in 2020. With his straight forward, unadorned way of speaking, he shares his thoughts on a variety of topics in a profound way that will cause you to reflect. Some of the stories he shares in this collection were familiar from having read his memoir [b:Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement|59612297|Walking with the Wind A Memoir of the Movement|John Lewis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1636839242l/59612297._SY75_.jpg|28164], but I enjoyed being reminded of them and marveling again about how he made such a positive and profound impact on the course of U.S. history. While this is still much work to do, reading his words will undoubtedly give you hope and encouragement to continue to fight the good fight and to get into some "good trouble" of your own.
