If you like reading a book with:
1. Supernatural creatures, such as vampires, werewolves and witches
2. Morally gray character, misunderstood villain
3. Strong heroine
4. Slowburn and Forbidden romance, with some hot scenes that make you blush and run out of breath
5. Secret identity
6. shocking and great betrayal
7. Bodyguard romance

You should grab this book ASAP! I know, it's a little bit too late for me praising and admiring how amazing this book is. 'Cause you can find everyone and everywhere hearing and listening to praises for it. and I will not deny that fact, that this book is totally worth the hype.

It took me a dozen days to finish it. For the reason that this book has a really slow start, but the plot is still intriguing. And also it has an ending that is really worth looking forward to.
In the beginning, This book presents us with writing that is dominated by narration rather than dialogue from the characters which is what made me a bit bored when I read it. but in the halfway through, you find the plot becomes more interesting. You will feel the tension and curiosity to uncover the mystery of the story. So, in my opinion although this book is a bit boring at the start, it is bearable.

The character has become famous and commonly known as a lovable character. and personally I found that I love them too. I love the flow of their relationship from admirers to friends and then friends to lovers, lovers to enemies and enemies to lovers.
-Poppy's character: The thing I like most about Poppy's character is that she is initially a naive girl, but she has great curiosity. the way she fights for her free will truly inspire me. She is also strong and very eager to learn new things. Especially that "things" she would be happy to learn with Hawke 🙈
-Hawke's character : I had some initial suspicions about his identity, from the beginning of his appearance in Poppy's life I felt he was hiding something very tightly. even though the reveal of his identity was already predictable to me. there are still some mysteries about Hawke that are difficult to guess. and in the end the revelation of the mystery he managed to surprise me. There's his behavior that always makes me giggling, and kicking my feet to the air, that way he always tries to look for opportunities to have skinship with Poppy. And of course the naive Poppy couldn't resist the temptation of a man as handsome as God like Hawke.🫠😭

The betrayal scene succesfully made my jaw drop. I also feel what Poppy feels, Hawke had made me mad and angry. But eventually, with his character and his truth he tells to Poppy, he'll easily gain her forgiveness. Anyways, Poppy has fell really hard for him. So despite of her anger and disappointment it'll be really hard to despise him.

My final thoughts about this book, Even though this series has many books and a very long journey, this series is really worth following and reading until the very end of the story🥰
