Hear me out.
When this book started, it was “omg she’s traumatized, but adorable”
Middle of the books: “why is she so whiney?” “Omg does she ever stop lying” “maybe I should just DNF”
End of the book: “I get it”
The main character was whiny at times and acted like a brat, she had lost her mother and at a young girl age, that is not easy. And while the lies were insane, she did learn near the end and her growth was amazing. She had this moment of clarity and everything just came together at that point.
The only reason this isn’t 5 stars for me is because there were never any real repercussions for the compulsive lying and that bothers me honestly.
But, it was a good book about life not being like the movies and sometimes you have to look right in front of you for what you really want and work for it. ❤️
