Snowblind by Ragnar Jónasson
3.0

I read this book based on Author's suggestions for atmospheric wintery reads in an article and obviously I was drawn to one about Iceland and this one did not disappoint in bringing back memories of our crazy holiday during an arctic storm!!!! From driving through the tunnels in the mountain along the roads covered in snow and with shear drops to the Arctic Ocean and people in Northern Iceland not locking their doors! When we arrived at our cottage - I asked the gentleman where the key was and he was like, why do we need to lock our doors, we are in the middle of no where oh and you better park your car up by the road since it will probably be stuck here come morning with the snow coming down! !!! Then all the laissez-faire attitude about the blizzard! This book did all of that! Memories aside, I didn't care for the main character, Ari Thor being a claustrophobic rookie cop who has problems with snow. LOL And of course the unbelievable-ness of all these murders happening in Iceland to begin with. Nevertheless, for capturing Iceland more 3.5 than 3 stars and I think if you have been there during the winter, you would certainly feel nostalgic reading this novel and it does all wrap up nicely.
