Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

5.0

Thar be dragons ahead! And apparently they can look like humans (if you ignore the complete lack of social graces). There is a treaty between them and us, but the distrust between our two peoples runs strong despite the last 40 years of peace. Seraphina is the assistant to the court composer and probably knows more about dragons than any other human in the country. But that may be because she is half dragon.

I devoured this first book. The conflict between dragon an human, old and young, fear and trust, and most importantly self. I can't wait for the next book, to meet more of the "grotesques" that love in her garden. I am especially intrigues by Jannoula.
