Ballad of Nightmares by Jack Whitney

3.0

Death/ Sam was phenomenal! Dirty talker, sweetly dominant, and artistry sensitive. He’s well thought out and care for his realm after being used by others that want to kill his demons.

The Tower/ Ana was not phenomenal. I found her lacking resolve and trajectory. Maybe it was the unclear motive of her actions or her murky backstory. I just could not connect or get behind her.

Side characters were great. Millie is a force.

I wish there was a map or more information about the many kingdoms. I had a hard time understanding their interactions and proximity to each other. Also the history behind them all would be helpful. Perhaps that will be more in book two.

Full on spicy spice right away. Keeps up for 60% the book then tapers off.

I’ll read book two just for Death.
