Last Chance Summer by Shannon Klare

*This book was given to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*

This book was just wow. I read it in one day in one sitting which explains how much I enjoyed it. It was a cute contemporary read that takes place in a kid's camp in Texas. Alex is shipped off to a camp in Texas where she has to be a counselor and is partnered up with a hot guy. Alex tries to make herself have the best summer and tries to open up Grant, the hot counselor. I loved the writing and how well paced it was. There were some funny jokes I laughed at and it was just a fun, easy read.

The characters in this book were enjoyable and relatable. I loved the slow burn relationship in this book and seeing the development between Grant and Alex. It was also nice to see how brave Alex was and seeing her developments throughout the story. She is a person who doesn't want help and doesn't really trust people but opens up to Grant.

The setting of this book was the best part of the book because I loved how the author describes the setting. Since I read this book in the Summer, it was such a perfect read. It was also relatable with all the hot heat in Texas so I knew what the characters had to go through in the heat.

This book also talks about grief and life struggles. I love how well the author wrote the character's struggles so well and making it love story at the same time. I recommend this book to those who love to read cute contemporary reads that take place in a summer camp. This is a book that I will most likely reread when I'm feeling down and need a good laugh or if I'm under a book hangover.
