I’ve read that some people found this boring but I thought it was anything but. I genuinely enjoyed Celaena’s growth as a character. Her raw pain, depression, self-loathing and survivor’s guilt were done so well.

I loved that we finally got to explore more of the fae and magic in this world!! Now that more of the world-building, politics, alliances, backstories, etc are coming out, this series is finally starting to get really good and I’ve begun to understand the hype

Hands down, the dynamic between Celaena and Rowan was the best part of this book. The PERFECT mortal enemies to misunderstood strangers to reluctant respect to best friends to “whatever end”??? I am speechless

This series is definitely not pulling punches tho my god, some of the casualties in this book had me genuinely GUTTED 😭

Also, not sure how Manon fits in to it all but… can’t help but kinda love her. Pls don’t break my heart SJM
