A Whole New World
by Liz Braswell
Overall, I am a huge Aladdin fan and consider it my favorite Disney movie, but this book was lacking a few things. I understand having the beginning to set up characters and stuff but since it’s a retelling with a twist we could have started in the cave of wonders and maybe have a short flash back of what happened previously.
Once the story picked up after the twist it was decent. The inclusion of Jafar actually looking for power and gaining control was very interesting. The street rat gang was also very interesting, but it all lacked details and depth.
This was a fun quick read and I believe it could have been a wonderful story if the author stayed in the plot longer and worked with the characters.
