Tl,dr: If the idea of dinosaur knights excites you, the  you’ll enjoy this book. It’s not the most amazing writing, but it sure is fun!

The good: it’s medieval war…with dinosaurs! Need I say more? But I will:
there is also a subtle sci-fi-esque plot, which is only hinted at in this book, but it has me itching for more.
There is only one main woman character but she is relatively capable, and the men have no problem with tears, poetry, and in some cases, sleeping with other men.

The less good: 1) The writing is…fine. Milan tends to overuse his descriptors, and falls into the same trap as a lot of fiction authors: using too many words for the same thing. A dinosaur will be referred to by their proper name, and a few other nicknames, and it’s hard to keep track of. Sometimes it’s easier just to call a T-Rex a T-Rex. 2) In keeping with the genre, it’s very…shall we say “sex positive”. The ruling culture apparently often goes around in little more than a loincloth and some straps. To his credit, there are times when Milan describes the appearance/outfit of the men more than the women, but it generally leans toward describing the form of the women and their clothing (or lack thereof). It’s not a huge part of the book, but it is there. Lots of characters are very into sex, and there are three sex scenes, in various levels of detail, one of which is a rape.

But overall, if the premise interests you, it’s some cheap fun.
